concrete trench drains

Like standard concrete, simply better.

BG-FILCOTEN® HPC (High Performance Concrete) is a 100% mineral material — an enhanced form of conventional concrete engineered without styrenes, synthetic fibres, or polymers. Its optimised high-density structure makes it possible to build drainage channels that are lighter, stronger, and cleaner than anything conventional concrete or polymer concrete can offer.

The result is a channel body that bonds with the surrounding concrete bed as a single continuous unit, reacts to temperature changes identically, and carries no harmful substances from installation through to end-of-life recycling.

Part of the assembly

The grating isn't an accessory - it's engineered into the channel.

Every BG-FILCOTEN® channel body is designed around a matched grating: the rail profile, lock recess, and surround concrete depth are all sized to the grating's material and load class. Drop the wrong grate on the wrong channel and you lose the rating.

  • Rail geometry matched to grating thickness and lock type
  • fiX lock recess cast directly into the channel rail
  • Concrete surround ("X" dimension) scales with load class and rail material
  • One channel body, multiple grating options across the load range

Function first, form follows - every BG-FILCOTEN® grating trades off load capacity, corrosion resistance, and appearance differently. Pick the material, then the load class.

Engineering

Built for the long run.

Every detail of the tec V is engineered to outperform - from the snap-on grating system to the textured exterior that bonds permanently with surrounding concrete.

fiX Snap-On Anchoring

The integral four-point quick-release, spring-loaded fiX system holds gratings firmly in place while allowing tool-free removal for maintenance. Two anti-sliding lugs prevent any longitudinal shift.

Superior Self-Cleaning

The ultra-smooth flat inner surface (36 µm roughness) minimizes friction and achieves best-in-class flow characteristics - outperforming polymer concrete at 36 µm+ and conventional concrete by a wide margin.

Permanent Bond to Substrate

Computer-designed anchoring ribs increase exterior surface area dramatically, giving far better adhesion to the surrounding concrete bed. The identical linear expansion coefficient ensures a permanent fit with no seasonal movement stress.

High Compressive Strength

Patented fiber-enriched HPC formula delivers exceptional compressive strength in thin-walled construction - no synthetic resins required. BG-FILCOTEN® outperforms polymer concrete and glass fiber modified concrete on all key metrics.

Galvanized Steel Rail

Integral 2 mm galvanized steel rail on the tec V provides secure grating lock-in with adjacent surface attachment points. Engineered fixing lugs distribute load evenly across the BG-FILCOTEN® channel body.

Temperature & UV Resistant

Cement-bonded fiber composite reacts to temperature change identically to the surrounding concrete bed, creating a unified, stress-free system. Resistant to frost down to −40°C/−40°F, de-icing salts, and UV radiation throughout its service life.

Applications

Where only
F 900 will do.

The pro G is specified whenever load class F 900 is required by the EN 1433 standard, or wherever the sustained weight of heavy equipment, aircraft service vehicles, or freight logistics makes a lower-rated system a liability.

F 900

Commercial Airports

Areas used by especially heavy wheel loads - aircraft service vehicle routes, aprons, jet bridge areas, fuel truck lanes, and cargo handling zones at commercial airports.

F 900

Ports & Container Terminals

Ship-to-shore crane rails, container stacking yards, heavy vehicle turnaround aprons, and port access roads where 40-tonne+ vehicles operate continuously.

E–F

Heavy Industrial Sites

Steelworks, petrochemical plants, mining facilities, and manufacturing floors where heavy forklifts, cranes, and industrial transport equipment operate daily.

E–F

Railway Stations & Yards

Platform drainage, rail yard vehicle access routes, maintenance depot floors, and locomotive service areas requiring certified railway-grade load resistance.

D–E

Distribution & Logistics Centres

High-frequency forklift traffic, articulated lorry loading bays, cold storage facilities, and large-scale distribution infrastructure where traffic is heavy and continuous.

A–E

Road & Infrastructure Projects

Carriageways, roundabouts, motorway service areas, temporary highway crossings during construction, and road verges where long-term structural performance is non-negotiable.
