BG-FILCOTEN® HPC (High Performance Concrete) is a high-density micro-structure concrete material which allows the construction of drainage channels in a lightweight design with the same stability and load class as conventional concrete systems.

BG-FILCOTEN® HPC is unique when it comes to environmental friendliness thanks to the sparing use of raw materials and due to the fact that it is tested for hazardous materials⁴⁾ guaranteed as harmless in terms of the biological standards of construction, as IBR certified³⁾, 100% recyclable²⁾

BG-FILCOTEN® is still unrivaled in the market place, being admired for its sustainability and its unique channel strength. FILCOTEN® complies with the EN 1433 standard and the ASTM A1 12.6.8.2001 floor and trench drain standard.

The high impact resistance and stability of FILCOTEN® ensures easy, quicker installation, and greater safety when installing the channels.

High Compressive Strength

A high quality cement mixed with a great proportion of fibers enables thin-walled channel design while yielding a very high compression strength. BG-FILCOTEN® channels are therefore lighter yet easily out perform most competitors.

70% Lighter

FILCOTEN® channels are up to 70 % lighter than conventional concrete channels. This is a huge savings in terms of fuel consumption. BG-FILCOTEN® is committed to conserving resources and decreasing its -40°F (-40°C) proportional CO2 emissions. The lower weight also facilitates on site installation.

Non-flammable

While plastics/ polyester resin are both flammable and often emit hazardous fumes when ignited, the complete absence of these resins, catalysts and bonding agents make BG-FILCOTEN® completely non-flammable. BG-FILCOTEN® has a Fire Rating of A1.

0% VOCs

100% recyclable, BG-FILCOTEN® is free from artificial resins and solvents. This means that it is harmless to the environment, our employees and the installation team.

BG-FILCOTEN® channel bodies have been bioconstructively tested and are recommended by the IBR (Institut für Baubiologie Rosenheim GmbH)

No harmful substance, heavy metals or VOC's.

Lock Mechanisms

Grate Locking Mechanisms & Compliance Features

  • 4-point snap-on (fiX) – For locking to the edge rails and absorb noise. Easy maintenance.
  • 4-point bolts – For heavier application that need a totally secure locking system. For a better system longevity,
    our nut cages can be replaced.
  • Anti-vandalism device – To secure the grates to the trench drain bodies.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Heelproof – We offer grates with less than 5/16 inch (8mm) openings to protect the pedestrians.

ADA compliant – Some of our grates are wheelchair compliant for a totally safe

Bicycle compliant – Most of our grates have openings allowing their crossing with a bicycle.
